At the heart of this open-air room is a beloved crabapple tree, visible from the kitchen windows, which provides food for the birds and a fragrant canopy over the lower terrace. The space was upgraded to accommodate the tree, and square-cut limestone paving stones, pea gravel, and planting beds replaced the uninviting lawn.
